"What many dismiss, ignore, or are unaware of is that a person living with a disAbility finds that the disAbility is as much of a significant factor in his or her identity as is their gender, race, or age. In fact, because it affects every aspect of their life it is often more significant to their identity. Any disrespect toward the disAbility by anyone is equal to insulting his or her race, age, and/or gender.

This includes representing that you have a disAbility when you do not have a disAbility. Similarly to representing a race that you do not belong to. How can anyone know differently if Hollywood continues to perpetuate the stereotypes and repress authentic voices, visions and performances from those with a disAbility who can represent themselves?"
