Here are two Feature Film Scripts that show my
vision and what I do with characters with a disability.
But it is only one approach. When I first started writing stories
that feature characters with a disability I felt that the only
way to Break the Hollywood Stereotypes, was to put the characters
into stories that did not ignore the disability but certainly
did not feature it either. I felt that the story had to be about
other aspects of the characters' life with occasional references of
it, or the consequences of the disability. Sometimes it would be the
direct effects and others would be the environment that caused a
look from the perspective of one who uses a wheelchair for
primary mobility.
Although I still believe this is an excellent
way to portray those characters who are paralyzed, I have come to
the conclusion it is not the only way to Break the Stereotypes of
Characters with a Disability. Therefore I have written other stories
that feature someone who is paralyzed that encompasses a more direct
and personal look at those with a disability. These can be
controversial, touching, and a more deeper vision to see what
it is like to be one with a major disability. To see examples of
these tales, go to the "Other
Stories" page.
Meanwhile enjoy these stories. "Forever
Yours" was my first feature film script and a story I really love
and re-read from time to time just becasue I miss those characters!
A bit like re-watching movies, I guess. I am particularly fond of
"London Time". It is an action police drama with personal
challenges that the main character, Detective London must
overcome both professionally and personally. He is a more complex
person and the romance with the beautiful Marci Waters, a
friend and colleague that has recently returned surely is nice
too! She is much more than a romantic component. She is strong with
her convictions and asserting herself. She is a wonderful
person who also is essential to solving the crimes and is
vital to helping London overcome his personal
demons. Check out more of these below and Click on
the movie title for even more information.
Logline: "A series of homicides finds paralyzed Detective
London reunited both professionally and personally with Marci Waters
to catch a fired Studio Executive before he murders another film
critic in his vengeful goal to control all entertainment press and
blackmail the entire film industry."
Logline: "A paraplegic man
and very successful entrepreneur must swallow his pride to accept
the helping hands from the love of his life before he loses her
forever and learn that "no man is an island."
